Hocine Fetni

Originally from North Africa, Algeria, Hocine speaks Arabic and French. He studied English in the US finding it to be a difficult language to master and a language that has few rules. He was able to complete his courses in English as a second language then went on to NYU Law School to earn a Law degree. Hocine then continued with an LL.M. degree at Penn Law School as well as a Ph.D. in International Relations.

 As an Advisor and Adjunct Professor at the University of Pennsylvania for many years, Hocine has been delivering academic advice and class lectures to advisees and students. As a member of the Sociology Department faculty, he developed courses on topics such as Law and Society, Law in Africa, Law and Social change, the Sociology of the Legal Profession, and the US and Human Rights. He has also taught International Law and the Theory of International Relations. Before coming to Penn, he practiced law and held other positions as well. 

Besides advising and teaching, Hocine loves sports-Go Phillies-Go Eagles-Go Sixers-and Go Flyers! He used to play soccer a lot and was a member of his hometown team. He loves camping and music of any type.
