Laurie Zinberg

For more than 10 years, Laurie has worked in higher education and absolutely loves it. Prior to joining Penn, she had worked for SUNY Maritime College, the American Academy of Dramatic Arts, and Drexel University. Her advising experience spans across a multitude of disciplines, but with a specialty in managing programs for international students and opportunity program students.

Laurie grew up in the suburbs of Philadelphia and graduated from Abington Senior High School. She holds a master’s degree in Higher Education Administration from Stony Brook University and a bachelor’s degree in Communication and a minor in Religious Studies from the University of Pittsburgh.

As an undergraduate, Laurie wrote for the health & science section of the Pitt News, volunteered with Mission Acceptance, and studied abroad in London and Paros Island, Greece.

Having lived in New York City for eight years, she knew she always wanted to plant roots back in Philadelphia. Now proudly at Penn, Laurie serves on the College Office CaseNet team and helps with Student Communication (think Compass). 

The best part of her job? Getting to know each student and helping them discover and meet their unique goals.

Outside of work, Laurie can be found going on long walks in the city with her child, husband, and dog Conrad. Her favorite show is “Saturday Night Live” and she is on a quest to find the best matzo ball soup in the city and pet every dog.
